‘Star Trek’ Release Today
I just picked up my copy of ‘Star Trek’ and can’t wait to watch it again. And again. And maybe again. I’ve already seen it three times. Once with my wife, once with a friend, and once with my father-in-law. I even thought about taking a stranger to see it. I don’t know why I love it so. It may be that the actors captured that old camaraderie of the TV show. I would sit and watch with my father and we loved the back and forth between Kirk and Spock or Spock and Bones. The new actors did a great job in bringing that to the movie.
While I was out, I also picked up the Disney/Pixar film, ‘UP’. I didn’t get a chance to see it in the theater but everyone has had nothing but praise for it, so I had to grab it too. I’ve always loved Ed Asner and think they couldn’t have picked a better voice for Carl. What movies, theater or DVD, are you looking forward to watching?

Clash of the Titans Trailer
I can’t get over how cool this movie looks! I had reservations about a remake. Granted the original wasn’t that great, but no Burgess Meredith, no Ray Harryhausen and no Bubo. But you get Liam Neeson as Zeus and that works well enough for me.

Paperback Trader in Lewisville
Had to take the truck to the shop for a downed window (again) and decided to browse the local paperback shop. Paperback Trader is a great little shop, and I do mean little, but I love to browse. The great thing about this place is their trade-in program. It breaks down like this. All books are half of the cover price. Easy enough. If you trade in books, you get 25% of the cover price on them in credit. Then use that credit on half of what your purchases cost. I’ve heard some complain about not getting any cash back. Well, most of the time your gonna turn around and put it right back into books so why not do it there. Another person complained that they didn’t have a more current selection. Well, that selection depends on people bringing their books to them. I like reading current stuff, but there are so many great titles that were written last century that I’ve got my hands full keeping up with the titles. In fact, in this last visit, I found some great titles from the 50’s and 60’s. Check out these covers.
Paperback Trader can be found at 1112 W. Main Street in Lewisville, Texas. They are open 10am-6pm Monday through Friday and 10am-5am on Saturday!
