A Galaxy Called Dallas hosts first monthly art night

With the help of Eli Luna, Alex Flores, and Thomas Branch, A Galaxy Called Dallas will host it's first monthly art night on June 1, 2015, in Garland. The idea was brought to us at Galaxy Dallas by Alex and Eli and we couldn't wait to do it. Basically, you bring paper and pencils, or whatever you want to work with, and we draw for a few hours. The night will have a theme or maybe not, you can help us decide. At the end of the night, we collect your piece and $5 (each if you wish to submit more) and when you return the following month, you will get a copy of our new magazine, Warp 11! No critiquing, no rejection letters, nothing but "published!"

Go to www.Warp11zine.com for more info and join us for some drawing fun Monday night.

Subscription Changes

We've changed our subscription service a little bit, by giving you a some new perks and clearing up some blurry parts. Here's the details:

• HOW IT WORKS •
Give us your list by filling out a form in the shop, emailing us, or Facebook message. As they come in, we'll put them in a box for you and wait for you to pick them up. Even if you only collect 1 title a month, we’ll pull it for you! We'll give you 20% off the cover and you get 10% off of anything else in the store. This does not stack on already discounted or sale priced items. Here’s the one catch: If it’s not on your list, there’s NO DISCOUNT. The 20% OFF of your comics ONLY applies to the titles on your list. If you add it to your list, then you get the discount. If you’re just trying it out, that's cool. You can drop it anytime that you want, we just ask that you pay for the ones that we've pulled for you. This whole thing is free, we just ask that you pay for what you order.

 • FREE TO JOIN • NO DEPOSIT • NO MINIMUM •

We want to help you get the comics and collectibles that you want, we just ask that you come in at least once a month and try to keep your list under control. Even if you just make it in once a month, that's great, but if you're pulling 10 comics a week, but only buying 10 a month, then you may need to reassess your list. If you've run into a problem with job, space, life, just let us know. Call, email, or stop in and let us know what the situation is and we can work with you. As long as you keep in touch, we’re happy.

• 40% OFF CORRESPONDING COLLECTIONS •

Stealing an idea from other comic shops, as a subscriber you qualify for a 40% preorder discount on any collection where you’ve subscribed to the single issues from us. For example, if you’ve subscribed to Saga #13-18, you can preorder Saga Vol 3 for 40% off! Best of all, you don’t need to sign up for this additional service, it’s free with your subscription sign-up!

Wanna Pre-Order Clash Of Rebellions Boosters?

Just received an email from our distributor soliciting pre-orders for Yu-gi-oh!'s Clash of Rebellions . If this is something that your interested in, email or message me for price.

Clash Of Rebellions Booster Solicitation

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. is proud to bring you the 3rd core booster release for 2015, Clash of Rebellions. This new 1st Edition 100-card booster set is where the new Red-Eyes cards make a big comeback, fiery new Deck themes burst onto the stage, and more new cards for the latest Decks!

Red-Eyes Monsters make a big return after almost two years behind the scenes! Clash of Rebellions introduces brand new cards to go with Joey’s “Red-Eyes” dragon theme from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series. Many of these cards will have synergy with cards from Legendary Collection 4: Joey’s World.

Clash of Rebellions also presents brand new Deck themes that’ll light up the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG tournament scene: fiery new Igknight Monsters burn up their own men to Summon gigantic soldiers, flowery Aromages pump up your Life Points and gain extra powers while you’re ahead, and a brand new Deck theme based on one of the most popular American fairy tales ever known that will continue to be supported in subsequent sets.

In addition to new themes, Clash of Rebellions also supplies Duelists with more new cards for the latest Decks, like Infernoids, Raidraptors, Performapals, Superheavy Samurai, Toon, and more. Finally, Duelists will also be able to use Xyz Monsters for Synchro Summoning by giving them Levels.

The Clash of Rebellions booster set includes 100 cards: 48 Common Cards, 20 Rare Cards, 14 Super Rare Cards, 10 Ultra Rare Cards, and 8 Secret Rare Cards.

The deadline to order is May 21, 2015 with a release date of August 7, 2015.

A Galaxy Called Dallas is the nexus of all things geeky located just north of Downtown Garland on the Southeast corner of Belt Line Road and North Garland Avenue. You can reach us at 972-530-2600.

Free Comic Book Day 2015 Roundup

It’s my Monday, though it’s Tuesday for the rest of you and I’m still aching from the amount of business that we did on Free Comic Book Day. We pretty much ran an entire week’s worth of sales in that one day and I can’t say much more than THANK YOU! Most people look at the money they spend going into the owner’s pocket and nothing more, but that money goes to pay the bills, the other employees, and for the product that we sell. Basically, when you purchase from us, you ensure that we will be here tomorrow and the next day and the next. Again, thank you!

I would like to, also, say thank you to all of the friends that helped man the store. I was overwhelmed by how many people showed up, so next year, I will be prepared. I’d like to thank Cole Houston and Andrew Farmer for coming out and recording for their podcast, Purr Kayla and her daughter for coming out painting faces and making masks, and all of the costumed fans out in their Free Comic Book Day best. We especially appreciate Captain America Dad and Little Man for coming out and letting us celebrate Little Man’s birthday with a cake.

Feel free to head to our Facebook page and see the photos that were taken and submitted and if you have any photos, please share them so that others can enjoy them!
