Came across this post at ScienceFiction.com and took a look at the two videos that were presented. The one that I embedded below is the new trailer for ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ that has been released but if you click on this link, it will take you to the post and you can watch a five minute clip.
Though, both ‘Mirror, Mirror’ and ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ are retellings, the latter seems to take it a little further than the former. And the sad thing is that I cannot tell you why I feel that way, because both have just as much in common with the original tale of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ as it doesn’t. It’s just a feeling, and that may stem from the darkness of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. This is definitely not a comedy. Charlize Theron is a very bad woman, demanding the heart of a girl, sucking out the life of young women, holding a whole realm in terror. She’s very good at it, too.
Though I’ve never seen the Twilight movies, I’ve heard over and over how wooden Kristen Stewart’s acting is, and who knows maybe she’ll learn a little range here, but if the trailers are any indication . . . . . .
All in all, I’m looking forward to seeing this more than any of the “Fairytale” movies coming out this summer. Given the choice, would you see ‘Mirror, Mirror’ or ‘Snow White and the Huntsman?’
