Star Wars Mini Con with The Rantcor Pit

All fans of Star Wars are invited to join the crew at A Galaxy Called Dallas on Saturday, July 8, 2017 for a Star Wars Mini-con. The event will begin when doors open at 10:30 am and continue until 4:00 pm. The shop will remain open until 10:00 pm per its usual business hours. A Galaxy Called Dallas is a Garland comic book and game shop located at 1238 Belt Line Rd., Ste. 365.

What started out as The Rantcor Pit’s Summer Road Show has blown up into so much more. The Rantcor Pit is a local Star Wars podcast hosted by Eddie Medina and “Jedi” Cole Houston. They made plans to visit several conventions and shops this summer with A Galaxy Called Dallas being one of them. Shop owner James Pickering decided to take it a step further.

Not only will Eddie and Cole be bringing their podcast to the shop, they will talk to fans, interview customers, and talk about all things Star Wars. During the show and throughout the event there will also be door prizes.

Bobby Blakey of Big Dumb Gorilla Studios will make an appearance. Bobby is a local artist who recently has submitted artwork to Topps to be included in the next sets of Star Wars, The Walking Dead, and Mars Attacks: The Revenge! You can meet Bobby and see what he’s working on next.

Abigail Tinsley has been invited to reveal her latest costumes on which she has been working. She has just finished a new Rey outfit and is working on Sabine Wren, a character in Disney’s Star Wars Rebels TV show. Being a member of the 501st, she will probably be accompanied by other Star Wars characters.

During the event, we will have drawings for door prizes, coloring and activity pages for the kids, and taking donations for the National Brain Tumor Society in honor of Mr. Pickering’s late wife.

For more information, please call the shop at 972-530-2600 or email them at help@agalaxycalleddallas.com.

A Galaxy Called Dallas can be found at 1238 Belt Line Rd. #365, Garland, Texas 75040. They are in the North Star Crossing shopping center alongside Nickelrama Arcade and Sali’s Pizza.
