So the poster has dropped and from the synopsis of the movie and the look of the poster, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS is gonna be a doozy! I liked what J. J. Abrams brought to the table with the re-working of the STAR TREK timeline because it gives us a whole new universe to work with without screwing with the past. That being said, bring it on! And you’ll get to see the first nine minutes of it at one of over five hundred IMAX screens December 14, 2012. That means that you’ll get a little HOBBIT in your STAR TREK, or a little STAR TREK in you HOBBIT, however you wanna look at it.
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
Star Trek Into Darkness, starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller, arrives on May 17th, 2013
