I’m sure you are well-aware of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas of Austin and San Antonio, and you may have heard that we are getting an Alamo Drafhouse Cinema Richardson. Located in the Richardson Heights Shopping Center on top of what used to be an auto parts store, Alamo Drafthouse is slowly taking shape. Owned by father and son, Bill D. and Bill C. DiGaetano, this location will have it’s grand opening on August 9th.
That’s not to say that there haven’t been events yet! Just recently there was a 40-foot screen in the parking lot showing DAZED & CONFUSED with food and brews on hand to quench the hungry and thirsty.
The next movie in their “Free Outdoor Summer Series” is THE LOST BOYS! Watch the late (boy, it’s weird typing that) Corey Haim and Corey Feldman fight vampires. Food trucks, local breweries representing, and film-themed surprises and giveaways will be in abundance. They have also hooked up with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive which will take place from 4:00 until 6:30. Every donor gets a free pass! The July 25th double feature of SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOT FUZZ leads up to the August 23rd release of THE WORLD’S END! Both are going to be awesome because they both will have Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright in attendance. If this is how they are going to kick-off, then I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
